Infection Prevention & Control Policy
Justine Warwick Make-Up Artist
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, has affected us all and I follow government guidelines and procedures at all times to ensure that I can work safely and legally.
I want you to feel happy and confident that your safety is my priority and therefore I have introduced some new procedures for appointments that take place at my house. I will be reviewing these procedures regularly and adapting as necessary.
During Lockdown it has been extremely difficult not being able to carry out the make-up services that I love to offer and I am looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.
During the time that my make-up
services have been unavailable,
I have completed the following training:
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control Course, accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry.
Barbicide COVID-19 Certification for the Professional Beauty Industry.
Barbicide Certification Training of proper sanitation and disinfection practices and procedures.
I would like to make you aware of the following, for when you next have an appointment with me.
I will contact you the day before your appointment to ask a few questions regarding your health and to ensure that you have not had any COVID-19 symptoms or been in contact with anyone who has the virus. If you have any symptoms e.g. high temperature, new and continuous cough and/or loss of taste/smell then please contact me to arrange a reschedule of your appointment.
If at any point before or on the day of your appointment, you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and do not come to the appointment. I have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness/ other.
If I feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately and not be able to work. This may mean that I have to cancel the appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be able to re-book again or ask for a full refund / voucher, where payment has already been made.
For your safety, I ask that you attend your appointment as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with another client who is just leaving.
Once you arrive, please call or text me on 07802 785203 and I will direct you to the side gate where I will meet you and take you to the make-up area. As soon as you enter the make-up area, I will have hand sanitiser available for you to use or please feel free to use your own if you prefer.
At this time, I am able to have only one person at a time, so please come to the appointment alone.
I will ensure that all surfaces that you come into contact with will have been cleaned prior to your arrival. I always follow strict hygiene procedures whilst applying makeup and my makeup kit and equipment is sanitised before and after use. Wherever possible I will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during the make-up service that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.
If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask and/or gloves during your visit, then I completely understand. If you do decide to wear a mask, I will do eye makeup first whilst you are wearing the mask and then ask you to remove it whilst I complete the rest of the makeup. I will be wearing a visor and mask in line with Government Guidelines.
At this time, I will be unable to offer refreshments, however, please feel free to bring along your own. Please also ensure that you have a comfort break before you leave home, in order to minimise contact.
All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area after your visit.
If I am providing make-up services at a venue, the venue will have their own Infection Prevention and Control policy.
I have carried out a risk assessment on all make-up services and I am confident that I can continue to provide these safely.
During your treatment/service
I understand the importance of hand hygiene and I will ensure that I wash my hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your appointment and use hand sanitiser throughout.
I will try to make your experience as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your service, please let me know and I will do what I can to address these.
After the treatment
In order to avoid handling of cash, I would prefer if you could pay for your make-up service by card / or in advance using bank transfer or PayPal.
All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
Thank you for your understanding.
